God is not partial, except you believe this with all your heart; the devil will succeed in deceiving you and make you to settle for what is less than the best for you. When you know that God is not partial, you will have nothing restraining you, you will know that if God did it for him, then He can also do it for me. When you know this, you will never envy anybody henceforth, this knowledge will make you to celebrate other people’s success because the same God who did it for them can do yours also.
God’s Promises for All
Jesus said in Mathew 28:20, ‘… 10, I am with you always …’. That is to every one of us. He is with you now, even in that problem. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” Psalm 46:1. I remember when we were in the primary school; early in the morning the teacher must register all those who were present. From the list, he calls the names of the pupils one by one and we all say present sir, anyone who is absent would not be there to say present sir, rather we would answer on his behalf by saying absent. When the bible says that God is the very present help in trouble, it means that when trouble comes calling, God will answer for you, saying ‘present’. Why? This is so because He is the VERY PRESENT HELP. You have problem(s)? HELP is present. Please, get this, whenever you have problems or struggles or challenges, know surely that the help you need to solve the problem is present with you. Of course, it may not be conspicuously or glaringly clear, but if you switch inward, it will come out, I mean the help will come out, I mean the help will come out of you clean and clear. So therefore, instead of weeping and seeking for sympathizers, think and meditate on the word of God, he said ‘I AM with you’; He said, ‘I AM the very present help in trouble”. So what’s your problem?
Many are looking for those who will pity them, no, do not look for pity party, they will put you into the pit. Here the word of God, ‘When you pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not burned: neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”. Isaiah 43:2. If God is with you and He is, why then are you still looking for sympathizers?
Stop weeping; start rejoicing. Stop complaining; start thanking God. He has promised to help you Isaiah 41:10
Your Response to the Troubles
Be bigger than your problem. This is a decision you have to make NOW, do not wait till tomorrow. See yourself as someone who is bigger than that large dept, you are bigger than that sickness, you are bigger than that marriage problems, you are bigger than those needs. I John 4:4 says
“You are of God … and have overcome them because greater is     He that is in you than he that is in the world”
Problem is in the world; God is in you. That makes you bigger than any problem, I see them as challenges and I am bigger than them.
You are a spirit, you can never cease to exist, if you die, you will still continue to exist. All those problems, whether physical or spiritual are temporary, they will soon pass away, but you will not pass away, you will not cease to exist, you will live forever (either with God or the devil, the choice is yours). If you will not vanish away form existence and this is the TRUTH; but no matter how long it stays, your problem will vanish one day, then it means you are bigger, better, stronger and more important than your problems. Friend, believe this, you are stronger than that problem: it is too weak to weaken you, wake up the sleeping giant in you. Thomas Edison failed ten thousand times, but he continued and so he succeeded in making incandescent lamp. You are of more value than any amount of money; you are priceless. The best houses that were built two hundred years ago are now out of fashion. Things come and go but your value cannot depreciate.
Nothing Shall Hurt You
Somebody said, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going” and Robert Schuler said “Tough times never last but tough people do”. If you are tough, as I have recommended for you from the beginning of this book, nothing can stop you.
Jesus Christ our Lord said in Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and     scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing     shall by any means hurt you”.
Do you believe this? You have power; Jesus gave you the power the day you got born-again. When got filled with the Holy Spirit, you received a greater dimension of God’s power. You are supper loaded with power. The bible says in Micah 3:8
“But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of     judgment and of might …”
The power to tread on serpent and scorpion is the power to ride victoriously and triumphantly over difficulties and problems of life.
Problems cannot hurt you, they are not that powerful except you give them the power and allow them to hurt you.
There is power within you
1John 4:4 that we quoted earlier gives testimony to the fact that there is something IN YOU that is special. You have to know it and accept it, there is something in you, and it is called power. That thing can solve any problem, that thing can over come every temptation, that thing can make you to achieve all your dreams, that thing is the POWER of God inside you.
You have it, it is there, a giant, which is sleeping, you need to wake it up and let it work for you.
If you feed it well, it will cause every people and things to gravitate towards helping you. If you encourage the power within you, it will cause the whole world to stand at attention and pay homage to you. Joshua discovered this power and when he was in battle against Adonizedec, Hoham, Piram, Japhia and Debir, he commanded the sun and the moon to stand still, till he defeated the enemies, the sun and moon stood still for 24 hours. Read the story in Joshua 10:1-14.
Joshua knew that he had that power within him; it doesn’t work for those who do not know it. You have to know it for it to work for you – understand?
If you know this power and you activate it, it will make you to always win in any battle of life. It will make life to say yes instead of no, that was what rescued me in the office of the great man of God that I shared with you in chapter one. That power is in you. Let’s see the scripture in Rom. 8:9-11
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the     spirit of God swell in you. Now if any man has not the spirit of     Christ, he is none of his.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the     spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the spirit of Him     that raised up Christ from the dead dwell in you, He that raised     up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies     by His spirit that dwelleth in you.
Friend, this is the crux of the matter, the spirit of God dwells in you. You are not ordinary; you carry grace and unction.
If the spirit of God is in you, how dare you say that you are “a nobody”? Come off it friend, you are somebody real and special.
Never should you debase yourself because of problem, you are bigger than that problem. Never consider prostitution as a way out of your present financial crisis, this will mean belittling your big and valuable self.
This is the truth and the Lord knows it, in the face of financial crisis in my life, it is one of my policies to take the problem to God in prayers and after that I rest my case. It is not my custom to go a begging (or go borrow), I don’t beg, I don’t go for loans because my God is more than enough. I think it has to do with what the bible calls contentment. When there is much, I give thanks to God, and when things look dry, you see, I believe God and He has never failed me. Never go down so low as to lower your standard because of things, especially money.
Esau was the firstborn son of Isaac, but because of food, he was ready to sell the right of first born to Jacob. He had that thing called the power of first-born and all the privileges and opportunities attached, but he willingly let go of it only because of food. Never go begging, never consider prostitution; to lie because of money is to under-estimate the power of God. For God’s sake, you are the king’s kid, stop worrying yourself to death.
For me, any condition that refuses to go away will no longer get my attention. I drive out such trials by my negligence of it, why? This is because I see it as nothing to me.
You know, some situations come so strong that if care is not taken, you begin to doubt the WORD. Never in your life doubt the word of God, the word works, yes it works, no matter what you are going through, only the word of God can lead you out of it.
Please note this very carefully, you should never allow the situation to bow you down to the level of weeping or crying. Your tears and sorrow is the joy of devil the enemy.
You want to know why I am so bold? It is because after all, the worst any problem can do for me is to kill me. In that case I will go to a better place, enjoy a better life with God, but you see I am very strong on the WORD of God that says “I shall not die, but live …” from the outset, I tell the problem, I shall not die but live so pack your load. The truth is that, the problem has no option but to leave me alone, you will find out that some problems may want to stubbornly persist, so I also persist in speaking to the problem. At the end, I always win; I’ve never lost at any time.

The Choice is yours
Let’s see what the bible says in Deuteronomy 30:15,19
“See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death     and evil; …
I call heaven and earth to record third day against you, that I     have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing;     THEREFORE CHOOSE LIFE, that both thou and thy seed may     live”
One of the keys to success on planet earth is to believe very strongly the title of this book, that is, God is not partial. From the above passage of scripture, we gather that God has set before every man and woman two things; they are on one hand life, good and blessing, on the other hand, death, evil and cursing. God will not choose for you, neither will He decide for me, nor act for me the best He could do is what He had done and that is His counsel. God said, you have a choice between success and failure, but I advise you, choose success. In every department of life, we are faced with the very same decision, we are the decision makers of our destinies, we determine what we will have and the level we will be in life, even to the point of how long we will live. This does not mean that you wake up and decide that I will live for as long as ninety years, no, the decisions are made everyday, the food you eat, how you use your body etc. are your daily decisions that ultimately affects how long you will live on earth.
The decision to be rich is also reflected in your daily decisions sleeping twelve hours a day certainly will bring you poverty, decision not to work hard, the decision not to safe and to spend all your money are made daily and these goes to affect how wealthy or poor you will ever be on the surface of the earth. One of the best points of our humanity is the free gift of choice. Not even the Almighty God can dare change the decision you make in life. So, you see, God is not partial.
Please understand this, you are where you are today because of the cumulative decisions you have made in the past. You see, I married my wife; God did not force me to. Thank God, we are blessed with children. If I had decided to marry someone else, and we had children, those children would be different from my present children because in that case my gene will be combining with another woman’s, producing a different result entirely. My decision to marry Bisi Shodeinde has brought about a whole new and different destiny for both of us. If I had married another woman, my destiny could not have been what it is now; it might be better or worse. Do you understand what I am saying? I was called to the full time ministry; I decided for it, God did not force me to do it. You see; if I had decided not to go into the ministry, my destiny would be different from what it is now.
Let me make it clearer, in the year 1984, I got admission to study Mathematics Education in the University of Lagos: four years later I became a trained mathematics teacher. On the other hand if I had decided to read law and entered for law in 1984, I would have graduated as a lawyer and my whole life and destiny could have charted another course, I would have become another person. Becoming a lawyer would give me different approach to life and certainly today, who I would have been only God knows.
Your decisions make you or mar you. Stop blaming God for your misfortune, but blame your self. God is not partial; God loves you as well as He loves any mortal being no matter how great that human maybe. Say it out loud; “God loves me”.
So you see my dear reader, the choice is yours. The ball is in your court; the destiny of the ball (in the court) depends entirely on you.
You Have Power of Choice
You have a part to play in actualizing the plan of God for your life. It is the will of God for you to prosper and be in heath III John 2. The bible says that God is not willing that anybody should perish but that all should come to repentance II Pet. 3:9. From this passage of scripture, we gather that it is not the will of God for anybody to perish. But it is very certain that people are perishing in sin, it follows that the will of God is not been carried out. God’s will is that all should be saved and that nobody should perish, but that is evidently not happening?
Why is God’s will not fulfilled? It is because people are given the power of choice here on earth and both God and the devil respects the decision of human beings. If God’s will is for you to be greatly blessed and physically powerful and you decide otherwise, God cannot and will not enforce His will on you. On the other hand, if you are bound by poverty and ill health, and you get hold on the word of God, and you decide with all your heart to part with poverty and sickness, you will win. That is the way God design for man to live on earth, by the power of our heartfelt decision.
If you are born in a poverty-stricken environment and you decide to call it quit with poverty, so be it, you are out of poverty zone. Your strong determination takes you out of that dreadful zone of lack and never enough.
What’s on Your Mind?
Fix it now in your mind, how you want to live, the type of house you desire to live in, the type of car you want to cruise in, the caliber of people you want to move with, the type of dress you desire, the type and quality of food you want on your table. All these must be decided and settled in your mind, it must be with a mindset that is ready to do anything good and legal to achieve your aim. This decision becomes your goal; it becomes an obsession, a driving force that represents your very essence of being. Someone who has decided that he would be one of the very best doctors in his country cannot live like everybody, your decision will spell out the type of life you are expected to live on earth. Can you imagine a student who strongly desires to pass out of the secondary school with excellent result playing and wasting time like all other students? You cannot live like others if you must achieve your aim in life. Can you see now that God is not partial? He wants you to succeed but He will not force you. Have you ever seen somebody that everybody considers a failure? He comes on strongly, springing surprises here and there, beating the imagination of all and sundry and coming up to become a star in the family? You too can pull the tricks. May the Lord help you to be all that He has destined you to be in Jesus name?
Failure is Never Final
Failure needs not be final; in fact, failure is success under construction. That you failed in an attempt does not mean you will never make it. God is a loving and impartial God, anybody who persists in what he or she is doing will always get a strong backing from heaven. All over the bible, we read the stories of men who failed in their initial attempt but came back strongly to become highly successful. Failure in any endeavor adds to the experience of life, it adds to wisdom and if properly managed increases your confidence.
You should never be afraid of failure, believe it with all your heart that you cannot fail and will never fail. Even if you do, it is a mistake and as somebody said, “it is not bad to make a mistake, but it is too bad to repeat the same mistake”. If you fail, try another method and continue until you succeed. You have what it takes to succeed, give it and your success will appear for all to see.

You have what it takes

Have you ever wonder why on earth some other people are making it? They seem to have the magic wand, the truth of the matter is that they are not better than you. The thing is also in you as it is in those people you envy for super achievement. Its in you, allow it to find expression in a worthy course. You have what it take to succeed, you are a winner, you are not a failure. Yes that is true about you. God bears me witness that you are not created to be a nobody neither are you here to be molested in any way all the days of your life. You are in charge, rise up from now and begin to take your place in the committee of the successfuls, you are one of us, come up from that position of despondency.

Success Is Your Birthright

The big guys with millions and billions of dollars in their bank accounts are as ordinary as you, none of them is more priviledged than you; none of them is favoured by GOD more than you. Nobody was destined to be poor in life, if there is any destiny for you, it is the destiny of greatness.

- You don’t need to come from the perfect family
- You don’t need to have all the degrees and fancy initials after your name
- You don’t need to have a certain I.Q.
- You don’t need to have a perfect body
- You don’t need to be popular
- You don’t need to grow up in a certain part of the world
- You don’t even need to be a certain age

All you need is simple faith in God and His in-built forces of success on the inside of you. Success is inside you failure is around you, so look inward, stop looking around. You have all it takes to make real big success on the earth. So dear friend, Go for it and be the best you were created to be.

  4. I bind the forces of wickednes operating in my life and environment.
  5. I release the spirit of peace and favour upon my life from today in Jesus name.
  6. Let all demonic eyes monitoring my body and progress receive blindness in Jesus name.

SUCCESS AND SPIRITUAL INVOCATION

Have you ever heard the story of men (and women) who got so frustrated in life as a result of poverty that they decided to use spiritual means to get wealth? I have heard the story of such men and women, they went to the spiritualist (called Babalawo in my native language), and the spiritualist promised them wealth and actually gave some real wealth. To every such wealth promised and delivered, there is always a strong attachment, a strong demand, and or commitment on the part of the seeker. To some they must pay with the life of their wives (or husbands); to some it is their first born child; to some their aged parents; to others it may be part of their body. Note that the part of the body so donated or sacrificed may continue to decay till the day of their death. Getting wealth from the kingdom of the devil is never free; it is a big deal you must pay for it through your nose. The terrible aspect of it is this, they will not tell you what the condition will be; they would not know at the outset what their oracle would demand from the seeker. So you would not know what they will demand until you follow them to the point of no return, sometimes they give stupendous wealth with the condition that the seeker will not live beyond a certain number of years, commonly between one and nine years. The point of no return is the point you have entered into a strong covenant with them, to this you are bound, and so at that point, they name their price. As I pointed out earlier, the demand may be short life for you here on earth, or the life of your wife, or that of your aged mother, or your son or daughter, or even your potency if you are a man and your womb if you are a woman, meaning your inability to ever produce a biological child. In this case all your unborn children are said to be working for the money you are enjoying on this earth. Such person though rich will die barren. Please note this well in your heart; the devil can never give you wealth for free.

I heard the story of three men who went to an old spiritualist and told him they want wealth but not with the life of any of their loved ones or unborn children. This wealth that they want will not affect their sexual potency and ability to produce babies. The old spiritualist consulted his oracle that agreed that such wealth was possible, but the three of them would turn into birds first; as birds they would be made to fly to somewhere to bring some spiritual materials with which their wealth would be made. This was a good arrangement to them the two of them agreed to the deal, but the third declined. To cut the long story short, they both flew away as birds and flew back to the shrine at the appointed time, then the spiritualist tried to bring them back to their human form, he succeeded half way, so half of their bodies turned back to human the remaining half bird. He then remembered that there was something he forgot to bring to the shrine, he rushed back home to bring the remaining spiritual materials and on his way, he was knocked down by a fast moving vehicle and died instantly. Those wealth seekers remained half human, half birds: this is a true-life story. The detail given above may not be exact or complete, but the truth is that the spiritualist died and there was no one to bring back the two wealth seekers to complete human form and they died a most shameful death.

Another wealth seeker was told to sleep with a dirty old completely mad woman if he wants great wealth but this also backfired. He too was not only disgraced but also lost his life in the process.

Are you looking for money?

The truth is that money is not evil, the Bible says, “The love of money is the root of all evil”. Notice that it says the love of, not that it said money is. The truth is that money is neither good nor bad, money is a neuter. It is good when you use it for a good purpose, and of course, it is bad when you employ it to accomplish evil act. Thomas Carlyle, the Scottish Essayist and historian, once declared that, “Adversity is hard on man: but for one man who can stand prosperity, there are a hundred men that will stand adversity.” Many people want to be wealthy, but very few people can really handle wealth. Many will fumble when money comes, only few people can remain humble when real wealth enters their hands. You cannot know the true nature of a man until he is rich; a man is truly humble if with all his wealth, he is still meek and considerate of others. I know some brothers who seemed to be so humble and loving: when they got little money, they began to class themselves; others are no longer worthy of them, they are now superior to all others: meanwhile these are the people they use to play with before. This is pride; beware of this as you grow to become successful in life

Friends. Time. Love.

Ok, this may be a long one, but may be worth your while. Well, for me it is. God’s been dealing with me with some things. With my friendships, my time and my love for others. I think it’s time I shared.

I’ve always known the “philosophy” of New Life Church… Loving God, Loving People, Loving Life… but I don’t know that I ever put it in my heart. I’ve always stood a bit back because of various reasons and questions… is this where I’m gonna be for a long time, or am I just going to build relationships and then leave them for something else that God has planned for me… Are people really that genuine? Do they really care that much?… I’ve even used the excuse that I’m too screwed up to let people know the real me in fear that they won’t be able to connect to God in worship because of me. I know. Lame. No one is perfect. )

But I’ve come to a conclusion lately. This may be a “duh” for some of you, so bear with me. We need people. We need to spend time with people. We need to love people. I was thinking of my long list of things I’ve accomplished and done in my life (yes, this may be a bit cocky to some)… Traveled around Europe for two months, live in Portland, OR for a year, Colorado Springs for a year, Africa for about a month, climbed mountains, led worship for thousands of people at one time, I’ve had the chance to meet and talk with various famous people, be apart of a church that is listed as one of the fastest growing church’s in america, done an ironman, eco challenge in the rockies, climbed the largest sand dunes in north america, driven across the U.S. multiple times and seen things that I can only keep in my mind because I can’t explain them, traveling Mexico for a month… and the list goes on…

But it’s all pointless…. if… I never did what I was created to do.  

I watched the movie “Into the wild” today.. (caution, some hippy nudity and some language).. It really made me think. He did all these great things. But in the end, he died alone. And before he died, he realized that it’s better to share life and happiness with people. It was awesome, because while I was watching, I received a text from a friend just basically saying “thanks for us being friends” and I also got a phone call from a friend back home just to say hi and see how things were going for me down here in the south. It’s those things that I’ve started to burn for lately. Traveling the world and experiencing what’s around me is great, but I’d rather do it with people. I’ve begun to be more outgoing with people and help those in need if I can fill it. (keeping in mind that it’ a struggle still with some things) But I feel myself being stretched and my life becoming more of what God intended me to be.

I’m gonna make a commitment over this next month, to spend time with people every day.(believe me, this is a step for me) So if you wanna get some lunch, dinner, breakfast, just hang out and chat, let me know. I’m down. I don’t care if your young or old, guy or girl (there will be boundaries with the girls). Stretch me and tell me about your life.

Overcoming Difficulties

Are you going through serious problems and solution seems far from coming to you? Maybe you’ve tried and failed, Doctors have given up on you, the job is not forthcoming, the desired spouse seems far away and you are dying as a single (unmarried) person? Whatever you are going through is designed for your breaking through. The bible says in Rom. 8: 28 that ‘And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them according to His purpose’

 

All things work together for good. This means all things including your problems, trials, tribulations, weakness and failures. By experience, I know this to be true. Jesus did not promise us a smooth journey but a smooth landing. He told the disciples (after compelling them to get into the boat) to go to the other side. In obedience they were crossing to the other side when this great storm came upon them in the middle of the sea. The fact that God has assigned you to do that thing does not mean you will not encounter trials along the way. Jesus told us in John 16:33

‘… In the world ye shall have tribulations; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world’

In Psalm 34:19, the bible says

‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivereth him out of them all’

The truth is, no life is problem free. There is a proverb that says that ‘the rich also cry’, why do they cry if not because of problem. Even God in the beginning had problems and challenges. Read Gen. 1:1,2

‘In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth; and the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

We gather form here that there was emptiness (void), formlessness and darkness, this suggest hopelessness and this is a very discouraging situation. But our God was not discouraged. God was not moved. Darkness was all over the place yet God was not perturbed. In that chaotic state, God spoke and said, “let there be light” and true to the word, there was light.

Is your life is full of darkness? Speak light into it. Maybe yours is empty of all blessings, speak forth your blessing, like somebody said speak your way to the peak.
In concluding this article, I want you to know that you are not the first person to have problems; you will not be the last. God is not partial; the problem has been permitted not to break you but to make you. That is the reason the bible says in Eph. 6: 10-12

“Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against …”

The bible says we are wrestling; we are fighting yet many do not know it, some know it, but do not understand it. That is why Paul said, “fight the good fight of faith”. God is good, He is on your side but you must be STRONG not in yourself but in the Lord.
